Morristown, NJ has at least two former A&Ps. There are definitely two former Centennial model stores. One of the two is now a Whole Foods Market and is located at 125 Washington St, Morristown, NJ. The Washington St location was just outside of downtown to the west, but there was another that did not make it as long as Washington at 66 Morris St, Morristown, NJ, just east of downtown.
I can't say I'm a huge fan of the facade renovation. It's a little cartoony for me. The right half of the building has been converted into a health food store, originally Grassroots Market (which retains a second, and original, location in Denville), and is now Green Life Market. As we see in the following 2016 Google Maps street view, Grassroots' sign was not, um, easy to read, especially since the building is set back from the street.
Why would anyone put up a sign like that? Granted, it's faded, but it's also tiny and badly spaced. And the better question is, why would they keep a sign like that?
