I had previously speculated that this may have been a replacement store for a
now-abandoned location in nearby Riverside, but I have no confirmation of this other than a general feeling. Any input?
This store, which is located at 360 W Pulteney St in Riverside, wraps up our Finger Lakes group! We have a little more fun stuff tomorrow to round it all out, then we start something totally new on Saturday. Lots of exciting stuff in the pipeline, so come back soon!

No actual idea, but you also have to remember that P&C was fairly common in NY State at one point, before what was left of the chain was merged into Tops.
ReplyDeleteSo in some areas if there is an empty store, it certainly seems possible that both had stores in the same town/area and once merged didn't see the need for two stores so closely located, thus closing one?
That's an excellent point. So you're saying that Tops and P&C may have both had locations in Riverside (one being in the older, now abandoned location), and when the companies merged, only one location remained? That sounds logical to me.
DeleteA P&C used to exist in this plaza, I don't believe it was in this exact location of the plaza as I thought it was on the otherside of the plaza, but the P&C closed in early 2000's and the Tops didn't open until mid 2010's
