Snapshot: Associated Supermarkets - Soundview, Bronx, NY

Today's snapshot is a 10,500 square foot store that might look vaguely familiar. That's because it's nearly identical in design to the Food Choice Market on White Plains Rd. While that store is owned by Luis Franco, this one is listed as being owned by Pilar Franco Encarnacion, who is probably a family member. This store opened in 1998 and was extensively renovated and expanded into a neighboring Dunkin' Donuts (to the left) around 2015. More recently, the Danice clothing store to the right has closed, making me wonder whether they have their eye on expansion out that side too (which would bring the store to a total of over 16,000 square feet).

The store is located at 1585 Westchester Avenue and competes with a much larger Fine Fare about four blocks to the east. We'll be touring that up next!
