The only former supermarket I was able to track down in Penn Yan is this 1950s-era flat roofed ACME, now subdivided. It's likely that this store was taken over by Penn Traffic before the existing P&C building, now Tops, was built as a replacement for this location. Here's a look at what the store would've originally looked like. The p&c and tops are a completely different location on Liberty st, but yes this is where Acme was located
ReplyDeleteOkay, so this store was never a P&C? I had just assumed it was because P&C took over so many of the ACMEs in this area (and then would've built their second location in town, which is now the Tops, to replace this one).
