We're making a quick stop today at the ALDI on Whitaker Avenue. It's a relatively new store, having opened in 2018 as a new-build on the site of a former Sears Auto Center. We're about a block northeast of the former Food Fair on Adams Ave and about three blocks east of the E&D Market, also on Adams. This store comes in at just under 19,000 square feet and seems to be fairly standard for newly built ALDIs, making it a low priority for me to actually go inside. It looks like this store was designed to replace a 90s location at 4104 G St in the Juniata section, but that's over two miles so that's quite a distance in an urban location to relocate your store. Tomorrow, we're checking out another Asian supermarket very close by on The Independent Edition!
