Our first Lancaster city store is this roughly 56,000 square foot store which originated as a much smaller Food Fair, which was converted to Pantry Pride in the 1970s before closing before the end of the decade. JoshAustin610 explains that there were several Pantry Prides in this part of PA sold to Weis at the time, and that this store has been expanded many times over the years by both Food Fair/Pantry Pride and Weis. When Weis moved in here in the 1970s, they were replacing an older store of theirs across the street, which appears to have been in this strip mall. Also nearby is this former ACME just around the corner, which when Acme Style visited a few years ago still had 1970s ACME decor on the walls (just painted over) in the Dollar General. Before we head into the downtown area of Lancaster, we're going to check out a few stores south of town starting with a small store over on The Independent Edition tomorrow!
