It's time for our final Coal Region supermarket! It's not hard to tell what this 16,600 square foot store store was before its current tenant, although it briefly spent time as a TJ Bart's between A&P and Boyer's.
I believe this is our final Boyer's, and it's not exactly the most exciting of them all. It looks a lot like the other stores of this era we've seen. Unfortunately, while many Boyer's stores are located in old big-chain supermarkets like this one, very few have any real remnants from the original tenants left.
This one is no exception. You enter on the right side and walk across the front-end to produce in the front left corner. Cold cuts and frozen meat are in the first aisle on the left side, with meats and deli on the back wall. Frozen and dairy are on the right side, with bakery on the front wall (actually just to the left in the below picture).
While I'm not positive, I'm willing to say that everything we see was installed by Boyer's, and that includes the decor, fixtures, and flooring.
I don't see any obvious A&P remnants, but maybe someone else will notice something I missed! I also have no idea what the inside of a TJ Bart's would look like, so I have no idea how much is left from them (but I think it's more likely they would've left more from A&P and Boyer's would've done the bigger renovation).
Plus, none of the fixtures here look that old. At the very least, they're in good shape.

Deli and prepared foods in the back right corner of the store. This deli setup is similar to the White Haven Market's, and I assume originally the deli was much smaller.
Cheese and prepared foods in the next case, with dairy extending down the rest of the last aisle.
Again, these cases are either relatively new or in very good repair for their age.
Jumping back into the grocery aisles, we see some older McCormick spice merchandising, but nothing else of note in the grocery aisles.
And the bakery department is between the registers and the produce department on the front wall. Okay seriously, is Blogger messing with me? These pictures are all in the wrong order and I could've sworn I put them in the right order.
And one more look across the front-end before we head out!
That is all for the Coal Region! We're going to head a little west before we finish northeastern Pennsylvania, for a look at north central PA. Come back on Monday to read more about what's coming soon!

  1. While I don't see anything left from A&P on the inside, the weathervane is still intact on the roof and even still has the A&P logo!
