This 30,000 square foot present-day liquor store looks to me an awful lot like a former supermarket, even more so if you look at the aerial views. I suspect, although I have no proof of this, that it was the original Stop & Shop here in Sturbridge (which of course is famous for the Old Sturbridge Village). The building was built between 1971 and 1986, and vaguely resembles supermarkets built during that time. The current Stop & Shop in Sturbridge was built between 1998 and 2001, and we'll be touring it tomorrow!
