D'Errico's Market
Owner: Rodrigo DeOliveira
This store was 2000 square feet. When I first went to the Central Street location in 2018, the store was supplied by C&S and used the White Rose storebrand. By the time this location opened in 2020, they had switched to Krasdale.
Let's take a look inside! This store was heavy on the meat and deli, with a large service counter running along most of one side of the store. Opposite that is dairy, frozen, and produce in small refrigerators/freezers. There was a small grocery section at the front.
As we see, this is primarily a butcher/deli store, but there was a selection of simple groceries too.
Owner: Rodrigo DeOliveira
Opened: 2020-2022
Cooperative: Krasdale Foods
Just across the train tracks from Best Price Farm is this little D'Errico's Market! D'Errico's is a longtime Worcester market, dating back to the 1950s in their original location out on Central Street. (Side note: the name is pronounced "duh-REEco's," not "DER-ih-co's" as I had assumed.) After the original D'Errico family sold the business, I believe it went through a few different owners before settling in the DeOliveira family. Rodrigo DeOliveira took the business over from his father in 2017, then began expanding from the original location which we'll see shortly. This location came next, opening in 2020, then one in Leominster to the north in 2021. Sturbridge was also slated to get a D'Errico's, but those plans never materialized. Leominster and the Cambridge Street store both closed in 2022. The Leominster location at 1123 Central St and planned Sturbridge location at 365 Main St have become Gol Supermarket, a Brazilian store, and to my knowledge, the Cambridge Street location remains vacant. Earlier this year, the Central Street location was also sold to a Brazilian grocer, Vitoria Meat Market.Location: 167 Cambridge St, Webster Square, Worcester, MA

We'll be taking a look at the other location once we get up to that part of the city, but there's a very large supermarket not far from this that we'll be touring tomorrow!
